Sauteed Chayote (Sayote)
Ingredients:
Chayote (sayote), sliced into bite size
1/2 lb shrimp, shelled
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 onion, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
vegetable oil
1 cup water
a pinch of salt
fish sauce to taste
1. Saute onion in oil, fry until onions are translucent and add the garlic.
2. Put shrimp and tomato. Stir-fry for 1 minute. Add water, chayote and fish sauce to taste. Mix and cover for 5 minutes.
3. Add salt to taste.
4. Serve with rice.
